Job Description
Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. is seeking an ELC SWAT Technical Operator, to operate Viz Trio and Pilot graphic system for live and taped production work. Coordinate multiple show downloads to recall generated text, such as names, locations, courtesies and graphics, and over the shoulder boxes or full screens. Proof text before use to ensure accuracy and coordinate corrections with editorial staff.
Update and make changes to the technical automation rundown command list.
Managing studio needs for shows scenic set up, lighting and camera requirements.
Operate cameras robotically and manually for live and taped productions as a backup to automation.
Assist Directors and provide feedback on ideas relating to show design and format, set design, studio set up, lighting, blocking, graphics, show changes, music, sight survey and set-up.
Meet with Directors and Editorial staff members prior to the show for the purpose of: Reviewing show rundown and creating control room command list in automation system.
Develop, test and document processes, workflow and Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for training new operators and provide additional & continuing training to current ops on new technology and follow up on issues that require additional training and documentation.
In the absence of department Supervisor, responsible for performing various duties such as schedule modifications due to UTO/PTO, programming changes, breaking news, etc.
SWAT TO is also responsible to manually operate an audio board to ensure quality of audio sources for live and taped telecasts, presentations and pre and post production.

Qualifications (Background, experience, and other requirements
Minimum Experience Requirements: 3-5 years practical experience in TV production, proficient in oral and written Spanish and English and modern knowledge of control room computer systems. Desirable Experience Requirements: Native speaker in Spanish, knowledge of Control room workflow and equipment utilized (video, graphics, audio, intercom) and industry experience in a live news environment
